The era of Comic book movies is here, and it shows no sign of ending any time soon. In fact, a vast number of big name Hollywood actors are already in either the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the DC Extended Universe, and the Fox X-Men Universe. Now it seems another actor wants to join in on all the fun, and that is John Krasinski, who played Jim Halpert in the U.S. version of The Office.
For those of you who don't recall, Krasinski was actually very close to being a character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It was said that he basically had the role of none other than Captain America in the bag, but the the studio changed its mind and went with Chris Evans.
But it seems he still is interested in being part of the MCU, as he recently discussed it with Digital Spy while promoting his new movie, 13 Hours:
"I'll take a Marvel movie, anytime! I love watching them so I'd love to be a part of it, the Captain America thing was hilarious... I had so much fun doing it and got to wear the suit and screen-test and sign my life away that I wouldn't tell anyone."
As for him losing the role to Evans, John was cool about it, stating there were no hard feelings. Not only that, but he also said what kind of role he would like to play:
"Chris is a good friend and very good at what he does, so I was so happy to see him do it, maybe now I need to play a villain and fight Chris. That's what we need to do."
Well, I can't for the life of me see John as a villain, but who knows? We won't until it happens (so make it happen Marvel Studios).
