Veteran BBC broadcaster Sir Terry Wogan has died aged 77, after a short illness, his family has confirmed this morning. The tragic news has already hit social media sites and begun to make its rounds and everyone is really feeling the hit today as we loose yet another legend.

In a statement, his family said: "Sir Terry Wogan died today after a short but brave battle with cancer. "He passed away surrounded by his family. While we understand he will be missed by many, the family ask that their privacy is respected at this time."

BBC director general Tony Hall added: "Terry truly was a national treasure."

We will miss Wogan when the next children in need comes around, we have all come to love watching him and co-hosts help raise money over the years and without him we're just not sure it can ever be the same ...
