The ending of 2015 turning into the beginning of 2016 brought upon the passing of many of our favorite artists. David Bowie, Lemmy Kilmister, Natalie Cole, Alan Rickman, and Frank Finlay were just a few incredible legends that left us much too recently.

Sadly, our furry friend Uggie the dog had also passed. In case you didn't know, Uggie is the talented and expressive Jack Russell terrier that performed in The Artist. Due to and influx of human icons passing, Uggie did not get a mention during the "In Memoriam" segment during the Screen Actors Guild awards.

While understandable, it is a little disappointing, as this four-legged actor has appeared in the film Water for Elephants, has appeared at multiple PETA events, has promoted products like Nintendodogs, and he is definitely more graceful on a skateboard than I can ever dream to be.

I think a mention of Uggie most definitely could have been snuck in. He is, after all, such an incredibly expressive and well-trained dog. He may not be a human, but he does deserve a little tribute nonetheless!
