We're going to have to wait until 2017 before we finally see Thor: Ragnarok, but that's not going to stop us from keeping an eye on the cast of the Marvel blockbuster. This early in production, there's still a lot of information up in the air, and in some cases even stars of the movie don't really know what's going on.

Geeks World Wide caught up for an interview with Ray Stevenson, who played Volstagg the Voluminous in Thor and Thor: Dark World, and asked the actor whether or not he would be involved with the next film in the Thor series.

"I’m still in the dark in regards to that, but I’m absolutely blown away to be apart of something that so influential and integral in a part of our generation in regards to movie watching and this Marvel Universe. Its absolutely incredible and if there’s a place for Volstagg then great, but right now I don’t know. He was great to play. Vikings in space!"

While he still doesn't know the fate of his character or The Warriors Three with absolute certainty, it's refreshing to hear him express so much gratitude to Marvel and those involved for allowing him to play such a fun role.

In a later interview with Reel Film News, Stevenson went on to discuss his love of the worlds Marvel has created and uncertainty as to whether or not he and The Warriors Three will appear in the third Thor movie.

“The Marvel Universe, the way it’s played out as you know, as had three Iron Mans, [there will be] three Captain Americas, and then they’re building up to this amazing climax of The Avengers."
“With that said, I feel that everything is geared towards creating a library which fans can immerse themselves in. Now, does this mean that fans will see every single character involved [in Thor: Ragnarok]? Who knows? Would I love to be involved in that? I hope so, however, even if I’m not, I just wish [Marvel Studios] continued success in their incredible endeavor. I definitely feel that [what they have done] has become a staple to our generation. Until you sign the dotted line or know that it’s actually a reality, it’s up to the powers that be to decide if your character is right for the story. At this point, I don’t know.”

Well, if the choice was up to me I would call up Stevenson and hire him on the spot.

Ray Stevenson is currently playing Blackbeard on STARZ's Black Sails. Thor: Ragnarok will be released on November 3, 2017.
