Maxwell brings his own creation of Supergirl to life with the intent of replacing the original. While the world begins to question the appearance of the Supergirl double, Kara enlists the help of Winn and Jimmy to figure who is behind it and how. Since Kara and Adam have started to date, Cat has been nice to Kara. Even getting her favorite coffee, a task Kara usually does for her. Winn finally gives in and helps Kara find out more about the Supergirl double. While on a date with Adam, Kara sees a group of people stuck in a dangling cable car on the news. She makes the excuse that her grandma is sick and leaves. While trying to save the people on board Kate's doppelganger appears and they fight. Kara is able to fend her off and save the people. Kara goes to the DEO to tell J'onn and Alex that it is not an android and sees a soul within her. Alex and J'onn plan to take it down thinking that she shares Kara's weakness. Winn is finds out that there are at least six other comatose victims that have been taken out of National City General Hospital with all fingers pointed at Lord. Lord fixes the damage done by Kara on the newly dubbed Bizarro. He continues to brainwash her into thinking that Supergirl is a bad person, despite her saving people. Alex confronts Lord, telling him that she knows he created Bizarro. She threatens to take him in when the time comes. While trying to make up for her bailing on Their last date, Kara is abducted by Bizarro and they fight. Kara is overwhelmed, but manages to hold off long enough for Alex and the DEO to arrive. They blast her with kryptonite bullets, but instead of killing her it morphs her appearance. She flies off and escapes. Kara tells Alex that Lord knows everything and that they should focus on bringing him in. Hank and Alex deduce that since her powers are the opposite of Kara, that they could manipulate krytonite to create something that could stop her. Realizing that Adam will always be in danger due to her secret life as Supergirl, Kara decides to end things with him. He says his goodbyes and leaves to go back to Opal City. After trying to comfort Kara, and being told to leave her alone, Jimmy is taken by Bizarro. Alex goes to arrest Lord who threatens to tell the world Kara's secret, so she locks him up at the DEO, much to Jonn's dismay. Jimmy tries to reason with Bizarro who reveals that she took him because Kara loves him. He distracts her long enough to signal Kara with his watch. While Alex finishes creating blue kryptonite to take out Bizarro, Kara rushes to save Jimmy. Kara is struggles in the fight against Bizarro, but is able to stop her with the help of Alex and the blue kryptonite. Back At the DEO Hank plans to put Bizarro back into her comatose state, but promises to do everything to help her. Before he does, Bizarro apologizes to Kara for everything. Kara confronts Lord who continues to taunt her, even threatening to go after her and Alex's mother. Cat decides to keep her and Kara's relationship strictly professional after being disappointed of Adam leaving. Kara arrives back at her apartment and finds a slimy plant in he living room. She is then attacked by a Black Mercy Plant.
We feel like the show has actually taken our advice and chilled out with all the aerial fighting. This time we got to see superspeed utilized and Bizarro's opposite powers were pretty cool. Here are some notable scenes.
Jane Doe/Bizarro- A woman who's real name is unknown and was a comatose patient taken out of National City General by Lord. He used her to conduct his experiments and create his own Supergirl. Despite having the opposite abilities of Supergirl and a lowered intellect, she a displayed sense of morality.
Team Supergirl- The team is finally back and while things are a little awkward still, they were able to get intel on their new baddie or the week. Without Winn's brain and wisdom of Jimmy we are not sure how Kara could have stopped this bizarre clone of herself. She was definitely happy to have her best friend back and talking to her again. The part with her telling Jimmy to leave her alone, pretty harsh. Guess he knows how Winn feels.
Kara and Adam- It was nice to finally see Kara get to be with someone after all this drama going on her life. It was also short lived and we couldn't be any more bummed that she had to sacrifice her happiness to protect him. They were definitely great together, it's just, aliens happen. Supergirl, super problems. He's not dead though, so he could definitely come back in the future.
Kara and Cat- Very funny dymanic these two had with each other this episode. At the beginning she was all buddy, buddy with Kara, getting her coffe and actually agreeing with her ideas. Obviously it was for her son. Then Kara breaks her son's heart and it's back to the condescending attitude and "go get my coffe". Ouch.
Kara and Bizarro- They we're essentially the same people and Bizarro wasn't all that bad. She seemed to know right from wrong, but was manipulated by Lord. They may have kicked each other's assets a couple times this episode, but they shared a pretty touching moment end. You couldn't help but feel bad for Bizarro when she said sorry and then was put under by Hank. I also couldn't help but laugh at the cookie monster comparison when she was describing how Bizarro talked.
Kara, Alex, and J'onn- All of them had very different opinions on what should be done this episode. Alex and Kara wanted to go after Lord, but J'onn thought it was took dangerous to do so. Alex and J'onn wanted to destroy Bizarro, but Kara thought that there was still a way to help her.
Kara and Alex- Alex told her sister not to miss out on the opportunity to be with Adam. Always hitting her with that loving sisterly advice. I'm not sure where they stand now, as she thought that Alex was the reason why Lord knew her secret and the fact that Bizarro was now in a delicate state.
Cat and Adam- The mother and son are now on good terms thanks to Kara. She even helped him and Kara with their blossoming relationship a few times this episode. She was pretty upset at the fact that he was returning to Opal City but he was alright with her visiting.
Alex and J'onn- He was pretty mad at her for bringing in Lord and while he was right, she was also right. Protecting her family was her first priority and she thought that J'onn would understand. Looks like he did after giving it some thought.
Alex and Maxwell- He may have thought that he could push the Danvers around, but Alex showed him otherwise. She may have broken a lot of laws by taking him in but a lot was at stake. I would have probably wanted to kick his ass too. You go Alex.
Maxwell and Bizarro- He's definitely got some wierd obsession with Supergirl, that he went out and made his own. Despite being this super powered being, Bizarro lacked a brain and that was the mistake he made. He might have felt good hearing the Supergirl double call him "Lord", but that's what screwed him over in the end.
Jimmy and Winn- Total broment between these two this episode. Winn totally saw right through Jimmy and told him to tell Kara how he really felt. Two guys in the who love the same girl that they help everyday to do superhero stuff. Very awkward.
Super Menace- Kara refers to Bizarro using this name. In the comics, Super Menace is. A villain and Superman's duplicate, who was created when Superman's pod collided with a duplication device. He has all the abilities of Superman, but doesn't share the same weakness.
Prometheus- Winn mentions this name as he digs for more information on Bizarro. For those who are familiar with Smallville, there was a project called Prometheus which was run by Lex Luthor. It took corpses of dead soldiers which were then injected with a serum that imbued them with various super human abilities. Very similar to what Lord has done with his experiments. Also it is the name of a supervillain who's origin story is the opposite of Batman. His parents were criminals, killed by cops, which drove him to be the anti Batman pretty much.
Blue Kryptonite- The weakness of Bizarro. While Alex reveals that she doesn't know what effect it has on Kara, blue kryptonite is known to remove a Krytonians power.
Black Mercy Plant- A plant that is known to give it's victims euphoric or horrendous visions while it slowly kills them. The supervillain Mongul is known to use them on his enemies.
What's To Come/Theories:
With Bizarro put back into a comatose state, Lord locked up and Adam gone, it looks like Kara's pretty poopy week is about to get even worse. Her aunt Astra is back, explaining that the plant that has attacked Kara is a Black Mercy Plant. Aside from clinging itself into its victim, it puts them into a dream like state, but eventually kills them. Kara is seen with her real parents on Kryton, but as a grown woman. She realizes that she is dreaming, while her body begins to fail due to the Black Mercy Plant. In the comics this plant is harvested by Mongul an enemy of Superman. Green Lantern, Batman and Green Arrow have also come in contact with it at some point in their careers. We probably won't see someone that powerful on the show yet, but he is definitely around. I'm sure Adam will return at some point, he hasn't been killed off or anything, it was just bad timing. As for Lord, he's definitely someone who already has a plan in place just in case something like this happens. Who's to say he hasn't finished up his OMACs and is waiting for the perfect time to strike. He isn't exactly panicking at the fact he is locked up at the DEO.
Kara's love life took a pretty big hit this episode and it looks like she will never be able to really get close to anyone. Trouble always finds the hero and those they care about in the end. The team is now back together, but things are definitely different. The important thing is that Kara has the her friends helping her save the day. Bizarro was definitely an interesting character and we really felt for her. Overall this was another solid week for Supergirl! What did you guys think about last night's 'Bizarro'. Leave it in the comment below we'd love to read them!
