Just a matter of days. Within a week even. Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 is close at hand, dear gamers, and we couldn't be more excited for the general public to bathe in the glory of CyberConnect2's final installment in what has been a surprisingly great fighting game franchise. However, this release will also be a bittersweet affair.

After having engaged with Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 for a while now, there's an overwhelming sense of disappointment. But not in the way you think, actually (as far as disappointment goes) it's a pretty good reaction. For this is the final time we'll be getting a [Naruto: Shippuden](tag:3637021) game from CyberConnect2.

Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 Is A Sad Farewell

For many of us, the demo release for Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 was a massive hype-builder for the insane conclusion to an exciting series. Hundreds of thousands of gamers and anime-lovers (millions?) are dying to get their hands on what is set to be one of the best fighting games of the year. But just know that there's a sadness that accompanies Ultimate Ninja Storm 4.

There are tons of failed fighting game series out there. For instance, the Dragon Ball Z IP hasn't seen a decent game since the PS2 era, even though titles like Xenoverse offered a glimpse of hope. With Naruto: Shippuden, CyberConnect2, in the opinion of myself and many others, have done a great service to what is an awe-inspiring anime series and that legacy has carried over to the final installment.

We're not going to experience anything similar to this series for quite some time. I'm not saying that the Naruto name will be left alone once CyberConnect2 depart from the franchise, it's unlikely that Bandai Namco are simply going to let it sit there, but what is likely is that whoever takes over won't have the same flair that these devs had. I mean, just look at how stunning this game can be!

A lot of us are going to thoroughly enjoy our time with [Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4](tag:3755113), that much is certain. But there's a sadness that comes with the departure of such a beloved fighting franchise. Therefore, enjoy the hype while it lasts and savor your initial interaction with this final Naruto: Shippuden game, you're going to miss them.

Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 gets its release date for the XBOX One and PS4 on February 4, 2016 in Japan, February 5 in Europe, and February 9 in Latin and North America.
