In the upcoming X-Men movie we will see a grand new host of actors and actresses fill the roles of many popular characters within the X-Men universe. Notably, Tye Sheridan will replace James Marsden as Cyclops, Alexandra Shipp takes over Storm from Halle Berry, Kodi Smit-McPhee is a younger incarnation of Alan Cumming’s Nightcrawler, and Sophie Turner replaces Famke Janssen as Jean Grey.
When talking about her new role, the Game of Thrones sensation that is Sophie Turner admitted that she and Professor X have a much different relationship than the previous X-Men movies have seen. In fact, whilst talking to Digital Spy, Sophie even insisted that she is considered a sort of surrogate daughter to the new Charles Xavier.
They have this unspoken bond because he's telepathic as well, he's gone through the same things. He's very powerful and he sees that growing in her. He wants to protect her and help her control her powers, but also help her access the best of her ability. They have a really sweet relationship. - Sophie talking to Digital Spy
Its no real surprise the Xavier takes her under his wing after we have already seen how he acted when he first met Mystique. He Recognizes that she is an extremely powerful mutant but that she is already becoming one of his most profoundly intelligent students. Sophie does go on to add that the relationship between them is anything but sexual, X is treating her just like any young girl that he might meet, with the attention that she deserves.
Thanks to the success of both previous X-Men movies there is already a lot of pressure on [X-Men: Apocalypse](tag:1194267) to deliver us with another amazing few hours of quality entertainment.
Personally I cant wait for the new movie to hit screens and would love to know what you think about it all! But this does all leave me wandering what kind of relationship Jean and Wolverine will have?
