Not too long ago, I put together a list of what I felt were the top 6 fight scenes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Going back and rewatching a few DC movies, I can't help but feel like they deserve a similar list. Like last time, I looked around for scenes that have great choreography, decent enough acting, and whatever else is in the fight that helps to enhance the entire scene.

With that in mind, I’ve selected five of what I believe are the biggest, baddest, and/or the best fights in movies based on DC comic books, such as:

1. Watchmen: Ozymandias vs Nite Owl II, Rorschach, and Silk Spectre II

I never understood why so many people hated this film. True, a few things were removed/changed from the original graphic novel, but I think this still holds up very well as an adaptation. Case in point: the fight between Rorschach and Nite Owl II against fellow hero Ozymandias.

Not only was Ozymandias able to hear Rorschach coming after him, but he also casually (and brutally) beat the invading heroes without breaking a sweat. Audiences never really learned how or why Ozymandias was so strong and fast during the film, but that mystery, coupled with seeing him barely exert any energy while fighting, is what helped make this scene so awesome.

2. V for Vendetta: V vs Peter Creedy and the British Police

V for Vendetta is an excellent movie, there's no doubt about that. All the actors were brilliant, the soundtrack and the imagery were great, and the fighting was beyond fantastic. Clearly though, the best fight in the entire film came at the end, when V attacked the entire group of police led by Peter Creedy. It's brutal, violent, and shows just how tough V really is. Who else can move around that fast after being pumped full of lead?

3. Batman Begins: Batman vs Ra's al Ghul

There's just something about teacher vs pupil fight scenes in films that makes them so cool to watch, and the fight between Batman and Ra's al Ghul in this film is no exception. It neatly ties up Batman's growth from a student of the League of Shadows into Gotham's Dark Knight, and (despite having Batman pretty much killing Ra's), it's a really good example of what makes Batman Batman.

4. Man of Steel: Superman vs General Zod

This entire fight is a hotly contested topic among Superman fans. True, the Man of Steel could've worked to keep the fight away from a city, or maybe tried not to blow up as many buildings as humanly possible, but on the other hand, Zod could've just kept coming back to plague Metropolis over and over again. Despite that particular issue, I really liked Superman's final clash with Zod. It's big, it's action-packed, and finally shows a live action Superman as the ultra powerful hero he is. At the very least, we can all agree it's better than any of the fights with Nuclear Man.

5. Batman: The Movie: Batman vs Rubber Shark

How could someone not like this? It's Batman punching an obviously fake shark in the nose, just before having Robin hand him a can of "shark repellent bat spray" that he just happened to have lying around. If anything, this clip clearly proves that the 1960s version of Batman was invincible, since that shark should've taken his leg off, but didn't. Forget Batman v Superman, let's see invincible Batman take on Superman instead!
