After what has felt like an eternity, The Walking Dead will finally return to AMC after it's mid-season break on Sunday, February 14.
While we'll all still have to wait slightly less than two weeks to watch the Greg Nicotero-directed episode, Brandon Davis of ComicBook.com was lucky enough to watch an early copy of the episode, "No Way Out," and jot down some spoiler-free thoughts on what we can look forward to in season six.
Here are three reasons why ComicBook.com thinks the next episode of The Walking Dead will reaffirm our love of the show.
1. Walkers like we've never seen them
If you thought you'd seen all there is to see from The Walking Dead by way of walkers, it sounds like we're in for a real treat with "No Way Out." According to Davis, the makeup and prosthetics are incredible on the hordes of walkers that “make the episode so intense.” Apparently there's also an awesome zombie killing montage that will make your jaw drop.
2. Great performances
There's not a doubt in anyones mind that the cast of The Walking Dead regularly give incredible performances, but it sounds as if "No Way Out" both features all of the main characters and allows some characters to take the forefront and shine as actors. Specifically, Merritt Weaver's Dr. Denise Cloyd and Seth Gilliam's Gabriel Stokes show a shift in character that we haven't yet seen in earlier episodes.
3. Screen time is better split between characters
One of the big complaints from the first half of season six is that it either shifted focus between characters too quickly and spent a disproportionate amount of time on others. Davis' big praise goes to the fact that Nicotero has once again found balance between each of the characters and all of our favorite characters get a good amount of screen time in the hour-long episode.
4. It'll leave you wanting more
Davis is great in clarifying that this isn't in the same vein as Glenn's fate, where you have to keep tuning in to find out, but in the sense that the show will reel you in with a genuinely good episode and make you want to come back for more.
The Walking Dead will return to AMC on February 14, 2016.
