Oh slay can you see!
Lady Gaga will kick off Super Bowl 50 with a performance of the national anthem before Sunday's game. She joins a potentially saturated list of performers who will be taking the stage. Coldplay and Beyonce are definitely performing for the halftime show, while Adele, Bruno Mars, Rihanna, and Taylor Swift have all been rumored to join at some point in the broadcast.
It was also announced that actress Marlee Matlin will perform alongside Gaga in American sign language, so it should certainly be a star-studded evening (even before the game begins).
It's safe to say that 2016 has been very, very good to Gaga
She took home a Golden Globe for her performance as the Countess in American Horror Story: Hotel. Soon after, she received an Oscar nomination for best original song for her work on The Hunting Ground's "'Til It Happens To You."
More recently, it was announced that she will be performing a David Bowie tribute at this month's Grammy Awards (and, at this point, it seems like she will be the only singer involved).
If it's anything like her Oscar tribute to The Sound of Music, this will be a showstopper
She may have fumbled a bit with her ARTPOP era, but this performance ushered in a comeback for Gaga that is really taking shape in 2016.
To see Gaga (and the game, of course), tune in to Super Bowl 50 this Sunday, February 7 on CBS.
