Unlike all the weird storms we've been getting lately, Suicide Squad hit us in a very different way, a kind of way that brings us back to when most of us were little kids and waiting up all night for Santa Claus to come. A kind of way where August 5th wont come soon enough. From the first image of the Joker to the latest film trailer, Jared Leto still hasn't disappointed fans with his portrayal of the iconic Batman villain. Below, are 8 times that Jared has melted our hearts with his performance thus far.

1. The First Image We Got.

When this here image was first released, fans didn't really know what to think. Some thought it was a hoax and others knew right off the bat that this was our new Joker. It wasn't until the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad Comic-Con trailers that we all knew we were going to get a pretty awesome Joker!

2. Mr. J's Off-Screen Affections.

Back in the December issue of Empire's Suicide Squad First Look, Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), told them:

Jared sent me a rat. A black one with cute white paws, like he's wearing little socks. I named him Rat Rat and my assistant Soph and I would sit down on the carpet with him and all drink tea. I passed Rat Rat onto Jai (Courtney), then he went to one of the girls in wardrobe. He's now with Guillermo del Toro.

Jared has also sent bullets to Will Smith, a dead hog to the crew, and sent Jim Parrick (who plays henchman Jonny Frost) on random errands at all hours, like spray-painting roses black and filling a backpack with nine-inch nails. Jared's even spent countless nights alone, listening to 1920s gospel music.

3. The Killing Joke.

Allan Moore's Batman: The Killing Joke is deemed a classic Batman novel, and featured an origin story of the Joker that writers pay homage to today. One of its most memorable moments was when Joker paralyzed Barbra Gordon and sent pictures to her father, Commissioner Gordon. Leto pays homage to the cover of the classic comic above.

4. The First Laugh, Appearance, And What He Said.

When the first Suicide Squad trailer was nearing its end, we all got to hear it...HIS LAUGH! Sure its not what some expected, but it was grand! What happened next was even better...He told us, or his future lover,"Oh I'm not gonna kill ya, I'm just going to hurt you, really, really, bad!" Audiences everywhere were sold instantly!

5. The Second Trailer Debut, Official Trailer #1.

Again, the trailer sold us comic fans and non-comic fans alike. It gave us all an even closer look to how awesome Suicide Squad will be. It showed our favorite anti-heroes in action and gave us even better glimpses at Jared's performance.

6. When He Showed Us His Toys.

That memorable line, "Oh I can't wait to show you my toys," takes us back to Jack Nicholson's portrayal of the Joker in Batman, where he says,"Where does he [Batman] get those wonderful toys?" Now it's the Joker's time to shine, and show us all his great toys, and he does just that!

Those are some great toys!
Those are some great toys!

7. Joker Going In After His Love...

True love...
True love...

Just like the New-52 story line, where the Joker kicks his beloved into a vat of acid, the movie follows that same procedure and shows how Harley got so...crazy? What we all love the most is how he just jumps, or dives, right in to save her.

8. My Favorite Part.

This here image is just one of the many reasons why I'm's just a true masterpiece!

Suicide Squad will hit theaters August 5th, 2016!
