'A full blown demonic possession fright fest.'

Is anyone seeing what I'm seeing? Each new asset release for period horror movie The Witch is raising expectations. The 'New-England Folktale' feels like one of the creepiest movies to come out in years, and definitely the scariest new flick in 2016.

The latest teaser, which you can view below, delivers a haunting punch within its 23 seconds. As the statement, 'A full blown demonic possession fright fest,' flashes over the screen you see two playing children warned against chasing the black goat while the sounds of their laughter echo in the background...

Here's the synopsis:

In 1630 New England, panic and despair envelops a farmer (Ralph Ineson), his wife (Kate Dickie) and four of their children when youngest son Samuel suddenly vanishes. The family blames Thomasin (Anya Taylor-Joy), the oldest daughter who was watching the boy at the time of his disappearance. With suspicion and paranoia mounting, twin siblings Mercy (Ellie Grainger) and Jonas (Lucas Dawson) suspect Thomasin of witchcraft, testing the clan's faith, loyalty and love to one another.
