Only ten more days until valentine's day folks and the love birds are already singing. In the spirit of the holiday of love the Me Before You trailer has finally been released and if you're anything like me, you're brimming with excitement.
The British beauty following a depressed paralyzed man and his quirky and bubbly caretaker owes its credit to the very talented Thea Sharrock. Directing her take on the Jojo Moyes novel of the same name, Sharrock delights us instantly with our favorite little badass Emilia Clarke and our sexy studded peacock Sam Claflin.
The stunning Emilia Clarke is best known for her role as the Khaleesi Daenerys Targaryen in the HBO series Game of Thrones. If you watch the throne obsessively like I do then you know how fantastic this actress really is. She takes her roles to a whole new level of badassery, finesse, and elegance. If you don't believe me, take a look for yourself!
(SPOILER ALERT: Scene is from Season 3 episode 4 For those of you who are catching up)
The girl just has that rebel nature. She's got a fire in her shall we say. Pun pun pun. I love Emilia Clarke and all her greatness but what I find intriguing is this new character of her's, Louisa Clark. Instead of giving us the unrelenting confidence and power of a queen she gives us the quiet, simple, and awkward nature of Louisa Clarke, a girl desperate for a job who in her search may just find love as well. With her kooky sweaters, messy buns, bumblebee tights and jittery nature Louisa Clark brings us that all too adorable quirky charm that we we're promised but not delivered in Fifty Shades of Grey's Anastasia Steele.
As much as I love Emilia Clarke, I am just as excited for that walking talking handsome cool drink of water Sam Claflin. On a personal note, I first fell in love with soft-eyed dream in Pirates of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. However, most will agree the role that made their thirsty hearts explode was the beautiful Finnick Odair in The Hunger Games series. Known for his flamboyant style and wicked charm, Finnick gives us the perfect bad good-guy. Again if you don't quite believe me, take a look yourself at the handsome devil in all his cleverness.
I'll be honest I'm no professional. I don't know exactly what it is but he's got it. It's in the voice, the eyes, the body language. Sam Claflin knows how to get into, no, he knows how to consume his role and leave us all wanting more. His role as William Traynor in Me Before You seems to still hold that sense of wit; however, his character seems to have less of a smart-mouth kind of wit but more of a simple, reserved brilliant kind of wit which I'm sure will be even better than it already seems. I mean come on it's Sam Claflin!
I know what some of you may be thinking about this upcoming romance: NOT ANOTHER ONE!!! I know we've been mobbed one after the other. The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Stuck In Love, If I Stay, The Fault in Our Stars, Love Rosie (Sorry Sam Claflin), and Paper Towns. I get it tragic romance stories are in right now but come on. What I'm trying to say is I've been getting sick of them myself, whether they're good or not, but there's a little something about this movie. There's something that sets Me Before You apart. It has a feeling of honesty to it and a strange degree of relatability, making it quite refreshing. Check out the movie yourself in theatres this June 3rd, 2016.
