The ever-talented—and not to mention very good-looking—performer Dan Stevens has just been casted in FX's Legion. For those who may not be familiar with the name, the actor includes such impressive credits as Downton Abbey and The Guest on his resume.
Fellow Legion cast members include Aubrey Plaza, Jean Smart, and Rachel Keller. Production is schedule to start this upcoming March. Let's meet the unique characters that will be featured in this TV show, a Marvel series that follows X-Men characters:
Stevens' character is a man named David, a haunted man who was diagnosed with schizophrenia at a young age. While attempting to bring a sense of normalcy and sanity back to his life, he reaches the end of his rope...until he meets the girl of his dreams. Oh, and did I mention that he is also Professor Charles Xavier's mutant son?
Aubrey Plaza will play David's friend Lenny, who has suffered a life filled with drug and alcohol abuse. Despite her difficult past, she continually tries to turn her life around and remains the optimist that keeps David afloat.
The character Melanie will be portrayed by Jean Smart. She is a caring yet tough therapist who is not opposed to questionable methods to help her clients.
Legion is written by Noah Hawley and based on characters from the X-Men universe. While it is only at the pilot stage currently, Hawley is known for the network's big success Fargo, which was just picked up for season three. Legion is already seen as a hot project for FX.
Legion is not the only project Dan Stevens has in the bag. Make sure to catch him in the live-action Beauty and the Beast film alongside the lovely Emma Watson, which is set to hit theaters in August of this year.
