Warning: Spoilers for the two most recent episodes of both 'The Flash' and 'Supergirl' lie below. Proceed with whatever level of discretion your spoiler sense dictates.

The announcement that CBS's new show Supergirl would be crossing over with the CW's The Flash, broke yesterday, much to the excitement of both shows' fanbases. But what can we expect to see when the Scarlet Speedster teams up with the Girl of Steel?

Yes, that's right. The CW's Fastest Man Alive himself took to Instagram yesterday to break the big news by sharing the absolutely adorable photo shown above. But is there more to this photo's adorability factor than first meets the eye? Could it, in fact, be hinting at a potential romance between the Fastest Man Alive and the Last Daughter of Krypton?

Now, admittedly, this theory is pretty unlikely, (unless more crossovers are confirmed for the future), but it would still be pretty awesome. It actually would make perfect sense within the context of both shows because both Barry Allen and Kara Danvers have, within the past two episodes of their respective shows, come out of sudden and difficult breakups.

Barry and Patty... the end of an era
Barry and Patty... the end of an era

Barry Allen's brief relationship with police detective Patty Spivot was arguably my favorite thing about The Flash... that is, until their tragic breakup. Dude, you've proved over and over that you're literally the worst ever at keeping your secret identity an actual secret, so WHY ON EARTH would you not tell your girlfriend? And don't give me that "I'm trying to protect her" nonsense. It doesn't wash. She point-blank ASKED YOU TO YOUR FACE if you were the Flash, and you said no. She did the right thing breaking up with you.

Oh, don't think I'm going to let you off the hook just because you're from outer space, Kara. You've been on Earth long enough to know what dating is like. This guy comes out of nowhere, falls head over heels in love with you, and you not only tell him to take a hike, you also decide that on that note, you're going to stop dating for a while. Your adoptive sister is the smart one, Kara. You got the looks, but Alex got the brains. Go out, have some fun, loosen up a little, and take your sister's word for it, you'll have a better life because of it.

What do you think, people? Will romantic sparks fly between Supergirl and the Flash? Or will it be just a friendly team-up?

Will we see a Supergirl/Flash romance?
