While it's true that CBS has plans to reboot the television show MacGyver, Lionsgate has plans to bring the inventive hero to the big screen with an all-new film series, according to Variety.

In case you need a little refresher, this is just how cunning and creative MacGyver is. He can pretty much get you out of any situation with his tool belt and his outside-the-box thinking.

The first film will be produced by Lee David Zlotoff, who was actually involved in the original series about a super-skilled secret agent played by Richard Dean Anderson. Neal Moritz, a producer of the Fast and Furious films, is also set to produce alongside Zlotoff.

We might not have a lot of details about the project just yet, but we will continue to wait for behind-the-scenes pictures and videos to see how Lionsgate will MacGyver multiple films out of the eighties classic.

Think about it guys: we get a TV series and movies? It's like it's the eighties all over again.
