As Valentines Day descends upon us, love is a topic prevalent in our minds. Although this movie does not arrive in theaters until June 3rd, I am already so eager to see this movie.
Me Before You is a love story between Emilia Clarke and Sam Claflin. Clarke plays a girl who desperately needs a job and isn't the most qualified for being a caretaker while Claflin plays the subject of her care and isn't too fond of her to begin with. However, he does not know she is unqualified for the job. The story continues on and they get closer and closer, telling their stories and spending all their time together. Clarke and Claflin fall in love of course and Claflin lands himself in the hospital and the trailer ends there.
This movie trailer caught my interest in the first couple seconds. I am a sucker for romantic films. I had never seen or heard of this movie before. After seeing this movie trailer I can't wait for it to arrive in theaters. The love and emotion of this trailer drew me in to wanting to be that girl solely in its 2 minutes. I can tell from this trailer that this movie is going to be one you will want to go see.
I did not rate it a full ten for two reasons. First off, it comes out in June. I know we can't control the time it comes out, but June? Valentines Day is upon us and this would be an ideal romantic movie that all would go see with their significant others. Although it will still be a hit, having it arrive in June will make it less popular and not as many people will be looking out for love stories. The main reason I did not rate it higher is because by the trailer you can tell this movie is another very predictable love story. People want something different. We aren't going to keep paying to see movies that have similar storylines. That's why we have movies coming out today like Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. Everyone is familiar with the famous Pride and Prejudice movie and if it were to be remade again no one would go watch it because it is all the same! However you add zombies into a classic love story and all of a sudden everyone wants to see it. The same romantic story of two people meeting and falling in love, with one probably destined to die, is too familiar to us. Oh yeah, The Fault in Our Stars and If I Stay are just two films off the top of my mind that have the exact same storyline.
However, the actors in the film are extremely talented and I love a good romance. I don't doubt it will be an amazing movie that I am looking forward to watching. I recommend all romance lovers to watch it too. Maybe I will be wrong. I guess we will have to wait for June!
