What you are about to see are some pretty kick ass posters from a group of artists known as The Poster Posse. The group has done official collaborations with Disney, Marvel, Universal, 20th Century Fox, Paramount, Pixar Warner Bros. and Vertigo for some of the biggest pop culture movies on the planet.
Last week it became glaringly obvious that they were pumped to see the upcoming 20th Century Fox blockbuster-to-be, Deadpool. They released three jam packed phases of posters showing their love for "The Crimson Nutcase" and we loved each and every one.
Ryan said in a recent interview, while talking about Wade and the film itself:
“He’s funny, he’s acerbic he knows he’s in a comic book movie, it’s super meta, it’s super weird at times, it’s hyper violent, pretty sexual, a lot of swear words, we don’t sort of play by the typical rules of the superhero movie.”
We love everything Reynolds had to say, and this is absolutely one of our most anticipated movies of the year. The Poster Posse's tribute, much like the film they pay homage to, is a thing of beauty. They turned in 38 — yes, 38 — fantastic posters for the tribute and we want all of them on our wall.
On the final day of the reveal they announced a contest to WIN the poster of your choice for free. CLICK HERE for details about that sweet deal. Here is a look at some of the posters from all three phases.
By now you know the story:
Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.” Directed by Tim Miller, “Deadpool“ opens on February 12 and stars: Ryan Reynolds (voted most likely to touch himself in public by the teachers of his high school), Morena Baccarin, Ed Skrein, T. J. Miller, Gina Carano, Brianna Hildebrand, Stefan Kapičić, and Leslie Uggams.
