Wait, is Kathryn Merteuil returning as the bad ass villain from the 1999 cult classic drama film Cruel Intentions? Yup! You've heard that right! The 38-year old actress and producer, Sarah Michelle Gellar is being considered to reprise her role as Kathryn Merteuil in the upcoming NBC pilot of Cruel Intentions.

Gellar is currently reading the pilot script hence very little can be said at this point, however, we would love to see her back on television considering that it has been two years since she appeared in a new TV show. The script is being written by Roger Kumble who originally wrote the 1999 Cruel Intentions film. Perhaps, Kumble's involvement is one of the reasons that drew Gellar towards the project. The premise of the show takes place fifteen years after the film and centers on Annette Hargrove's son, Bash Casey.

Being a huge SMG fan, I will surely give this show a shot! For those of you who don't know yet, Gellar will also be appearing in one of the episodes of the new TruTV comedy sitcom 'Those Who Can't.' So stay tuned for more!

Should 'Cruel Intentions' be adapted for television?
