January started us off with two intriguing, unique horror movies, and it doesn't look like it will stop there. This year has a wide range of horror films scheduled for release, including three follow ups and three new concepts. Take a look at what we know so far:

1. The VVitch

February 19th

The Witch follows a 1930s New England family who begin to experience supernatural occurrences after relocating to an isolated farm surrounded by dark wilderness. Read more about The VVitch, and it's connection to genuine folklore.

2. 10 Cloverfield Lane

March 11th

After waking up from a car accident, a woman finds herself in an underground bunker with a mysterious stranger (John Goodman), who claims that the outside world is dilapidated due to a chemical spill. Directly tied to 2008's Cloverfield, producer J.J. Abrams chose to keep the film a secret as long as possible, giving us a very short waiting period.

3. The Other Side of the Door

March 4th

Following the heartbreaking death of her son, a grieving mother turns to ancient supernatural forces to see him again. By doing so, she inadvertently opens a door between the living and the dead, plaguing her family with evil spirits.

4. Before I Wake

April 8th

A couple suffering from the loss of a child become the foster parents to a boy with inconceivable mental capabilities, allowing his dreams to become a reality, along with his nightmares. As they race to discover the root of the deadly manifestations inflicting their foster son, he fights to stay awake.

5. Amityville: The Awakening

April 15th

A young girl unknowingly moves into the Amityville murder house with her family to be closer to a neurological hospital for her comatose brother. Before long, the house begins to unveil an evil presence followed by the inexplicable recovery of her brother. As she learns more about the house, and it's history, she begins to realize that her brother may not have recovered after all.

6. The Conjuring 2

June 10th

Based on the real case files of paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, The Conjuring 2 follows a single mother and her children in 1877 London, struggling with malevolent forces. Having the Warrens there further provokes the spirit torturing her young daughter.
