The title and logo of Netflix and DreamWorks remake of '80s 'Voltron' series has been unveiled - it will be called Voltron: Legendary Defender.

The new name builds on the sturdy foundation of the 1984 - 1985 animated TV series, Voltron: Defender of the Universe.

Here’s the original logo:

The first season’s 72 episodes featured five teenagers, each commanding a robot lion.

This bionic pride could be combined to create Voltron, who protects planet Arus from evil planet Doom. Voltron is a super Robot based on Japanese anime series Beast King GoLion.

The second season introduces Vehicle Force Voltron, a 15-member team divided into sea, land and air specialities. They defend Galaxy Alliance explorers from the threat of villains from planet Drule, and can also combine into the behemoth of Voltron.

Without further ado, here's the new souped-up logo:

The new collaboration was announced in January but the exact 2016 release date is yet to be announced.
