So it's Friday which means it's been a whole five days since the Super Bowl aired and we got a plethora of awesome new teasers. If you're like me then you're still reeling from the [Captain America: Civil War](tag:994409) teaser which was easily the best of them all (in my opinion). So I'm going to break down what I believe are the Top 5 best parts of the TV Spot (in no particular order).
1. The Chanting
"United We Stand! Divided We Fall!"
I mean talk about an amazing way to amp up the energy in a trailer. It completely echoes the surreal grandness in scale this movie is trying to accomplish. We are getting two of the biggest superheroes fighting each other. Already it's divided many fanboys/girls into either #teamcap or #teamironman. So it's only fitting that the trailer incorporates the same sort of epic feel by using a chant that is very similar to a sort of sport's chant because... and lets be honest here... for most of us movie nerds, this is our sport. It only makes it doubly fitting that it aired during the Super Bowl. Nice play Marvel.
2. Iron Man's Cool Glove
This moment shocked everybody I knew who'd seen it. Iron man is known for his genius and the constant ways he has rebuilt and improved his suit, but this one has got to take the cake. First of all it's not actually a glove, it's a watch. In the teaser you see him do something with it that makes the glove appear. The effect is so cool and so slick you'd miss it if you blinked. This nifty device will definitely come in handy for him for what he has to do next.
3. Iron Man Stops Bucky
This part probably stole the trailer for me. Thanks to the cool watch Tony invented, he was able to stop a bullet at close range with just his hand! I mean how cool is that? If it wasn't simply stopping the bullet that sold me it certainly was RDJ's acting. The pure look of shock and fear on his face just sold the whole scene ten times over. I think many times we just see him as Iron Man, and can forget that he is an academy nominated actor. I think this scene just reminded us of that.
4. Seeing the Two Teams Square Off
If we know anything about the outcome of 2016 is that this will be the year of superhero against superhero given that Batman v Superman also comes out this year. Except with Batman v Superman you're mainly getting just one superhero against the other. With this movie you get a whole group of them facing off! Can't you just see it? Hawkeye vs. Black Widow. Scarlet Witch vs. Vision. Falcon vs. War Machine. It's almost too perfect. I'm geeky out just thinking about it and certainly seeing it happen on screen just pushed me over the edge.
5. Feeling the Rage Between Iron Man and Cap
If Marvel's had one consistent complaint thrown against them, it's that their movies might be a little too lighthearted at times when it shouldn't be. The best example of that is basically the entirety of [The Avengers: Age Of Ultron](tag:293035). However, what this teaser gave us was a sense that things are serious between our two favorites. There is no joking around in this teaser at all. Heck, Captain America is still defending Bucky even when he clearly tried to shoot Tony. If that's doesn't prove things definitely aren't friendly between Cap and Iron Man, nothing will.
Well these are my Top 5 moments from the trailer. What are yours? Tell me below.
