Some of the most iconic roles in cinema have been performed by actors who's true identity is hidden or obscured from view. You may recognise the below when in disguise, but away from the screen, could you name the films they've appeared in?
Take a look at these five faces, and see if you can match them up with the roles they have played. Oh and, word of warning — don't scroll down before answering. That's cheating, and cheating isn't cool. Okay?
1. Do you know which role this man played?
The actor in question is David Prowse, who played Darth Vader for the original Star Wars trilogy.
The former bodybuilder provided the frame for the Sith Lord, while James Earl Jones provided the vocals.
2. This man has terrified millions... But as which character?
Roger L. Jackson provided the voice of the Ghostface killer in all four of the Scream movies.
Living up to his onscreen nickname, Jackson was never visible during filming, and was named as one of the best kept secrets of Hollywood by Entertainment Television.
3. Who was this man in disguise?
Oh look, it's Agent Smith, a.k.a. Hugo Weaving, who play V in the R-rated comic book adaptation.
Despite being a relatively well known face in Hollywood, while portraying the freedom fighter, Weaving's face is either obscured from view or hidden by the mask.
4. Do you know the role this actor played?
Perhaps this one was slightly easy, as Robert Englund is partially visible through the thick scar tissue that covers Freddy Krueger's face throughout the Nightmare on Elm Street series.
The 68-year-old classically trained actor performed one of cinema's most iconic roles between 1984 and 2003, before being replaced by Jackie Earle Haley.
5. Do you know which role this actress played?
Australian fashion model and actress Gemma Ward played the role of the aptly named Doll Face, one of the masked assailants in The Strangers.
The 28-year-old has also appeared in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (2011).
