As one of Marvel's most popular superhero, Iron Man has won the children's hearts everywhere. Iron Man merchandise is some of the best selling superhero merchandise and very popular with kids everywhere. Even some children cited Tony Stark as their role model and idol.
Nine year old Domenic Pace is an avid Iron Man fan and he has been battling cystic fibrosis throughout his life. His biggest wish is to become Iron Man, and with the help of Make-a-Wish Foundation Australia, Domenic's wish came true. He suited up as Iron Boy and fought 'criminals' in Sydney. This reminds us of the Batkid story, back in 2013, when a five year old boy who was recovering from cancer suited up as Batman and went on to fight crime in San Fransisco.
Tony Stark himself, Robert Downey Jr. tweeted a support for him, “Sent a very special boy on a top secret mission today. Go get ‘em, Domenic! #IronBoyAU @MakeAWishAust”. Liam Hemsworth, Chris Hemsworth (who plays Thor on the Marvel Cinematic Universe)'s younger brother, also tweeted his support for Domenic, "Go, Dom! #IronBoyAU".
Domenic was not alone in fighting criminals. He was joined by his older brother, Joseph, who played the role of James Rhodes a.k.a War Machine, Iron Man's sidekick. The Make-a-Wish Foundation designed a special Iron Man armor for Domenic.
Domenic was assigned a mission by the New South Wales Police Commissioner to save a kidnapped reporter who was held captive in Clark Island by Ultron and his henchmen. He was escorted in a boat to Clark Island in Sydney Harbour and he engaged in a battle against Ultron on the Opera House's steps.
Help us, Iron Boy! You're our only hope.
