We have seen countless Cinderella stories, each with their own spin on the classic tale. Brandy brought Cinderella to life in the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical. Hilary Duff, Selena Gomez, and Lucy Hale all took on modern day versions of Cinderella. Drew Barrymore amazed us in a realistic version taking place in 16th century France in Ever After. Lastly, Disney brought us an amazing, true to the original, live-action version of Cinderella that was nothing short of magical.

One thing we have never seen is a comedic version of Cinderella, complete with the hilarious cast, and alumni of Saturday Night Live. Sure Cinderella has its ups and downs, with sad moments thrown in, but the majority of it has the potential to include witty songs, silly moments, and entertaining interactions between the funniest people on television.

Cinderella - Kristen Wiig

Kristen Wiig has the right look to play Cinderella, but she is also capable of giving the character a humorous side. Maybe if she made her family laugh, they wouldn't be so mean all the time.

Prince Charming - Jason Sudeikis

Who is more charming than Jason Sudeikis? He is funny without even trying, and has the good looks to match the title.

The Evil Stepmother - Maya Rudolph

I would love to see the Evil Stepmother crack a smile every once in a while, and you know Maya Rudolph can't keep a straight face for long.

Drizella - Tina Fey

Tina Fey has the personality to make Drizella really shine. She gets very little individual time in the classic Disney movie, but her character would have a funny side with Tina playing the part.

Anastasia - Amy Poehler

Amy Poehler will dominate as Anastasia. She has shown that she can play quirky characters, and she is somehow capable of making incredible faces. That could come in handy playing Anastasia.

Fairy Godmother - Aidy Bryant

The Fairy Godmother is so cute, and radiates kindness, meaning Aidy Bryant will have no problem stepping into her shoes. She could undoubtedly pull off the ditzy forgetfulness of the Godmother with a touch of humor.

The King - Chevy Chase

I can just picture Chevy Chase in the scene where The King dreams of playing with his grandchildren. Watching him chase The Grand Duke around would be equally entertaining.

The Grand Duke - Bill Hader

Bill Hader can play any role and make it funny, but playing the awkward Grand Duke would be right up his alley.

Honorable Mentions:

Cinderella would not be complete without her animal friends, so here are a few additional cast members to voice the classic characters:

  • Gus - Andy Samberg
  • Jaq - Fred Armisen
  • Bruno - Jay Pharoah
  • Lucifer - Cecily Strong
  • Suzy - Vanessa Bayer
