I think we're kind of universally programmed by now to root for underdogs. But sometimes we take it a step further. Or at least that's how my brain reacts, in both a storyline and meta sense. If a character is underrated and ignored, either in-universe or by fandom and obviously deserves better, that's pretty much my signal to aggressively adore them - usually exponentially more than popular fandom favorites.
Fortunately, I'm not alone.
Because there are talented artists like Vitoria Bas (whose work you can check out at her blog, and I highly recommend, particularly the recent David Bowie tribute series), who give them the royal treatment in fan art form, along with some brief but colorful descriptions of why they're the best - or at least memorable.
Charming in their simplicity, and expressive in their adoration, this series of pencil drawings made me smile, and I hope they do you too. At the very least, it makes me happy to know that our favorite characters get the attention they deserve from fandom, even if they don't show up as much as we'd like in their actual universes.
You can check out the entire series here, or scroll on for viewing pleasure and ease in appreciating the most under-appreciated of Harry Potter friends.
So how did it go? Miss anyone? Who's your favorite underrated Harry Potter character? (Or heck, something else? We're pretty relaxed here.)
Anybody else who deserves more love?
Lastly, as always, thank you so much for reading, and please keep all commentary respectful. Remember that this dedicated artist is human like you, and does it all on their own time, for the love of the craft and the characters. Rock on, and see you again real soon!
