When we last left the cast of Fear the Walking Dead back in October, some serious shit had just kicked off. After losing two members of their group, and the whole world on the brink of collapse, the only hope they had was the mysterious Strand and his yacht Abigail.

Now, thanks to a new promo for the series from AMC, we've got our first glimpse of the gang aboard the vessel as they try and stay out of reach of the undead on open water. Check out the short but sweet video below:

All looks rather intense, doesn't it?

First up we get quick flashes of most of the remaining cast, who all look rather on edge, and as if they're all keeping a keen eye out for possible threats:

And, of course no promo for any zombie TV show would be complete without some gnarly zombie shots. First up we see another vessel approaching the yacht, filled with people with their arms up — but is this vessel packed with the living, or the living dead? We also get our first glimpse of what looks like a walker floating in the ocean, something that I personally have been pretty geared up about seeing. How much of a threat are walkers in the water? Do they disintegrate quicker? Can they swim?!

Lastly, we see that the group probably aren't as safe as they thought, with Travis (Cliff Curtis) striking down rather forcefully with an axe. It's good to see that Travis is finally growing a bit of tough skin in this new world — maybe we can make a Rick Grimes of him yet!

With the second season of the show set to premiere in April, from the looks of the promo the show is set to up the levels of gore and action, which fans will be excited about. Showrunner Dave Erickson spoke to EW and explained what fans can expect from Season 2:

“You’re going to see a bunch of seabound refugees over the course of season 2. And much in the same way that we have taken steps to survive and compromised our morals to do so, we’re going to have to deal with some people who have very similar objectives, and the default setting for most of these people is not going to be, let’s all live in harmony and try to build a new community. It’s going to be, how do we protect what’s ours? How do we protect our family? So there’s going to be a very serious threat from other people, as there is constantly on The Walking Dead.”

Seabound refugees? Compromised morals? A serious threat from other people? Season 2 sounds like it's going to be absolutely amazing. I cannot wait!

The two-part 'Fear the Walking Dead' season will premiere on April 10th on AMC.
