Penélope Cruz has been regarded as one of Hollywood's most beautiful properties for close to two decades. So when she was asked about her 'ugly feet' in a recent interview, Cruz was clearly taken aback.

In an interview on Today, co-anchor Savannah Guthrie got off on the wrong foot with the 41-year-old Spaniard in a talk promoting Cruz's new film, Zoolander 2.

Guthrie, clearly feeling slightly uneasy at the upcoming the soul destroying question, said:

"I don't even know how I feel about this, I think you said it, that you, despite what you look like, that you've said you have ugly feet"

'I'm OK With My Feet'

Turns out Guthrie was wrong – Cruz hadn't said that and immediately took offense, deflecting the comment and explaining the real reason behind her toe woe. She replied:

"No, no, no, I haven't said that. I'm OK with my feet. Yeah, because, when you’re a ballet dancer, you lose your toenails. You get used to throwing them away - you don't even feel it anymore. That's what I meant."

Cruz, who won an Oscar for her role in Woody Allen's Vicky Christina Barcelona in 2008, will star in Zoolander 2 as Melanie Valentina. The movie is released today. Go and watch it. Go!
