Everyone has a favorite Disney princess. Their unique looks and quirky personalities make them a pretty diverse bunch. But have you ever wondered how the characters might hold up in society today? Creative illustrator Anoosha certainly has. She's come up with these super cute interpretations of our favorite Disney girls and how they might express themselves in modern hipster culture. Check out a few of them below.
1. Snow White, the Social Media Queen
21st century Snow White is a fashion blogger with a love for nature, vintage fashion, and old movies. iPhone-obsessed, Snow is always taking selfies or posting her #ootd. A promotor of self-love and beauty that comes in all shapes and sizes, she is definitely the fairest of them all — when it comes to her follower count at least.
2. Ariel, the Anthropologist
Hipster Ariel had always planned to be a marine biologist just like her father, but after taking an Anthropology class in her freshman year, she knew it was the path for her. Not only does she love studying humans and different cultures, Ariel also loves to travel and has a growing collection of souvenirs from every place she visits.
3. Belle, the Fangirl
Belle is still a complete bookworm and loves engaging characters, but in the modern world, she’s obsessed with TV shows and movies too. She stays up all night reading fan fiction, binge-watching Game of Thrones and engaging in general fangirl activities on Tumblr.
4. Jasmine, the Travel Blogger
Hipster Jasmine is a travel blogger, exploring the world and immersing herself in different cultures. One of her favorite parts of the trip is always looking out of the plane window, soaring through the endless sky. An owner of five cats (and counting!), she is also studying to be vet and is a devoted animal rights activist.
5. Mulan, the Cadet
Mulan's dream was always to follow in her father's footsteps and join the boys-only military school that he went to when he was young. With the help of her trainer, she secretly disguised herself and enrolled. Of course, she was discovered eventually, but had already made such an impression that the school opened its doors to female students the following year. Apart from being a total badass, Mulan’s favorite movie is She’s the Man. Obviously.
6. Merida, the Punk Rocker
Hipster Merida goes horseback riding every weekend and has an archery scholarship. Being the rebel she is, her favorite band is Mor’du and she's passionate about British punk rock.
