Welcome readers, today I bring some more news regarding the second half of Gotham Season 2. I wrote an article a while back with news regarding the arrival of the Order Of St. Dumas to Gotham City, and with that I was filled with high anticipation for the arrival of Azrael to one of my favorite TV shows.
But then things went quiet on that front after the dramatic conclusion to the first half, that is, until now.

With the arrival of the Order in the first half of Season 2, fans knew it was only a matter of time before our screens were blessed with the appearance of their very own Dark Knight, Azrael, and that day seems to be coming faster than we thought.
ComicBook.com managed to get an interview with executive producer John Stephens, in which he teased:
"They don't just go away. They stick around! They're very stubborn."
Stephens also confirmed that, yes, we will indeed be seeing the arrival of Azrael in the upcoming second half. The Order will be preparing to end what they started this season, and clean up the mess that Theo Galavan made, in his failed attempt to destroy the Wayne Family name.
But will fans recognize the character when he graces our screen, or will they take a few creative liberties, as Gotham has become famous for creating its own, distinct Bat-verse.
In the same interview, Stephens answered that very question:
"In many respects, Azrael will have many of the hallmarks and traits that we know from the comics, But it will have a brand new twist upon that character; the way we're going to bring that character into being on our show will be different than anything we've seen in the comics."
With these hints and teases at the character, fans can rest assured that this will be a close representation to the original source material. This news has been confirmed further over at the DailyMail, where they have exclusive images of Theo Galavan dressed in some easily recognizable armor. Check these out:
I always suspected that Galavan would be the Order's chosen one, despite his fate at the end of the first half of the season, and that armor and mask in the above images seem to confirm it. Stephens assured ComicBook.com:
"it will be identifiable as Azrael in all respects, just a version of him we've not seen before, which is the point of doing these! How can we do the character with a fresh twist?"
When the interviewer asked about Azrael's trademark flaming sword, Stephens simply laughed in response with an ominous, "Wait and see".
Gotham Season 2: 'Wrath of the Villains' returns to FOX at 8pm Monday, February 29, 2016.
