Why 'Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey'?
This one is for all of you science nerds out there like me. If you are like me, then you are already out there searching for documentaries that will truly pique your interest, but it's really hard to find any good ones. Search no farther because Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey will not only blow your mind, but it will teach you a broad array of all kinds of sciences. Here are five ways that Cosmos will take your breath away.
1. The topics 'Cosmos' covers
Cosmos not only covers all of the primary sciences, it also covers aspects that can be very controversial to creationists. Whether it talks about evolution or how life even began in the first place, this show covers it all. From the depths of a black hole to the conception of humans, you will go through a roller coaster of topics.
2. Neil deGrasse Tyson
When it comes to hosts of a show, Neil has one of the best voices ever. Not only does his voice sound appealing, he also keeps things interesting and makes everything simple enough to understand.
One of the strongest aspects of this show is the visuals. Not only are there stories with all the principles, which I will cover later, but the visuals are beautiful. They are completely animated, with Tim Burton styled characters and with amazing precision on the processes/subject matter.
Every episode is just under an hour, which seems long, but trust me you will be sad and craving more after every episode. Also, with a grand total of 13 episodes you won't be disappointed.
My absolute favorite aspect of Cosmos is the fact that Neil explains all of the theories with real world examples of scientists from back in the day. It's all fully animated with acting to actually understand the concepts and how they were conceived.
There are many documentaries about science that you could watch, but when it comes to quality and variety, Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey is a 10/10 in my book. I still go back and watch the episodes over and over again. Consider watching it and I promise you will be blown away.
