Out of all of the sick shit that goes down in the wave of cinema known as the New French Extremity, the hideous climax of Inside (À L’Intérieur, 2007) may be the most shocking.

I'm not sure how a Hollywood remake will handle the scene where The Woman (Beatrice Dalle at her most terrifying) cuts a baby from its mother's womb with a pair of scissors.

Check out the trailer if you're curious about Inside. Despite the gruesome subject matter, it's a stylish and masterfully tense film.

The remake is already well underway, with Rachel Nichols from underrated automobile terror ride P2 slated for the lead role.

First Franco-Canadian mindfucker Martyrs was remade, and now Inside. Maybe Haute Tension, Sheitan, Calvaire and (gulp!) even Irréversible are gonna get the remake treatment... is nothing sacred?

Or are remakes simply making cult horror available to more fans? Discuss!
