With Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens racking in over $2 billion at the box office, you can rest assured the sequel — the currently untitled Episode VIII — is in a very safe place.
However, if you were getting restless at the lack of information about the next outing, you can now relax as Disney has released a Production Announcement video and casting information for the Rian Johnson directed sequel. But there are new faces too, namely director Rian Johnson
Speaking of new faces, Disney has also announced some casting information for Episode VIII. Most of the big names are returning — bar one noticeable exception (I think you know who) — while Academy nominee Laura Dern and newcomer Kelly Marie Tran have also been added to the family. Benicio del Toro has also had his much rumored Star Wars casting confirmed.
