The next Installment in the Predator franchise seems to be heating up, with screenwriter Fred Decker promising great things from the forthcoming Shane Black directed reboot in a a facebook post last week. Then today, a new image popped up on its Facebook page teasing some kind of announcement and a Title..
Here's the image...
It looks cool, right? He’s got that unmistakable, if-it-ain’t-broke-don’t-fix-it look, a decent catch phrase, and maybe even a new title, The Predator. Everything here looks good.
And though the Facebook image is captioned with the seemingly lame phrase "Here we go again, bro", don't worry. The predator didn't get a tight white t-shirt or something. It's a play on a line of dialogue from the original, 1987 Arnold Schwarzenegger film directed by John Mctiernan.
The film is co-written by Shane Black and Fred Decker, who have a pretty good track record. In addition to being one of the supporting actors in the first Predator film, Black also worked a bit on that script. Plus he wrote Lethal Weapon, The Last Boy Scout and more recently, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. And of course, he directed Iron Man 3. Decker is best known for directing Night of the Creeps and The Monster Squad, the latter of which he wrote with—you guessed it—Shane Black.
