Leonardo DiCaprio is just the gift that keeps on giving and this time, his biggest gift of all was bestowed upon his mom.
It's not the first time that Irmelin has accompanied her son to an awards ceremony, yet it seems that her attendance at the BAFTAs the other day meant a considerable deal to Leo. In his moving acceptance speech for his role in The Revenant, the 41-year-old presented his proud mama with the best birthday present ever.
Beaming down at the audience with his hefty gong in hand, Leo revealed:
"There's one person I have to thank. I would not be standing up here is it weren't for this person. I didn't grow up in a life of privilege – I grew up in a very rough neighborhood in East Los Angeles and this women drove me for three hours a day to a different school to show me a different opportunity."
"It is her birthday today. So Mom, happy birthday. I love you very much."

Speaking at the after party at London's Grosvenor House, Irmelin similarly expressed her affections for her little boy, gushing:
“Everyone’s always saying he’s a mummy’s boy and I say: ‘Do you mind when everyone says that?’ And he says: ‘No, I love it’. He’ll always be a mummy’s boy. I’m so proud of him.”
