Pick up your sword and dust off your armour - it looks as if the original Dark Souls game is coming to Xbox One next month!

In a recent Australian Xbox Marketplace listing, it was revealed that the original Dark Souls game will be coming to the Xbox One as part of Xbox's backwards compatibility programme. The listing went on to say that those that pre-order the digital download of Dark Souls 3 will bag the original for free.

This listing has since been removed from the marketplace but Kotaku fortunately managed to grab the description.

For a limited time, purchase a digital pre-order of Dark Souls 3 on the Xbox Store and get the original Dark Souls playable on Xbox One. The code for Dark Souls will be delivered to your Xbox message center within 7-10 days.

No comment has come out as of yet from either Microsoft or Bandai Namco but the very fact that this has been taken down from the marketplace traditionally means that this will indeed be happening very soon.

You can rest assured that someone somewhere is getting a pretty serious tongue lashing right about now for not reading their embargo sheet correctly.

[Dark Souls 3](tag:3590458) is set to launch on March 24 on Xbox One, PS4 and PC - not long to wait to see if this little gem will be gracing our new machines.

Will you play Dark Souls on Xbox One?
