When it comes to offering his opinion, Anthony Mackie isn't shy. Making a bold statement, he's proclaimed Captain America: Civil War the best Marvel movie that has ever been made. I suppose he would know, seeing as he's reprising his character of Falcon for the film, due to hit theaters May 6.
Mackie spoke with IGN about what makes Civil War unique compared to the previous Marvel films:
“It’ll be very different because … I feel the best Marvel movies thus far have been 'Winter Soldier' and 'Iron Man.' And I think this movie far surpasses those two movies. I think the Russo brothers and Marvel have done a very good job with upping the ante every movie. And this one definitely does not fail to live up to that.”
Asked what it was like being part of the Avengers family, Mackie brought up the amount of fun he has on set:
“It’s dope man — I get to hang out with Robert Downey Jr. I love it. I love it. I get to eat lunch with him. And talk to him. And crack jokes with him. And he gives me his old clothes so it’s awesome.”
Who knew RDJ and Mackie were even the same size, eh?
Since it's a few months before Captain America: Civil War graces our screens, you can soon catch a dose of Mackie in Triple 9, which hits theaters the 26th of this month.
