Female comic book fans have risen from the depths of fandom, and are here to stay. Representation of strong women in media is a wonderful thing (cue the success of Netflix's Jessica Jones), hopefully they'll keep 'em coming!

Here's some top picks for fan favorites from DC that have yet to make it onto the big and small screens of the DC cine-verse.

5. Batgirl (Barbara Gordon)

Barbara Gordon - the daughter of Commissioner Gordon, and sassy redhead extraordinaire. Barbara is hands-down the most popular of the Batgirls. She has endless plot potential in terms of the Gordon family storylines, like keeping her life as a Bat secret and her personal growth as a character. She's a perfect candidate for the long haul, as she could always become Oracle and has plenty of backstory to draw from for inspiration. I guess you could throw in a little Nightwing romance action as well, but there's so much to work with already, it may not even be necessary.

4. Zatanna Zatara

Zatanna - the mistress of magic. Zatanna is famous for her unique look and powers - in the world of comics, that's saying something. She's a rather mysterious character, and hasn't really been in the limelight despite being a member of the Justice League on several occasions. She also has an interesting relationship with her father, as does Barbara, that could integrate into the Arrowverse world nicely. Her magic makes for an invaluable asset in terms of plot and capturing the fans' attention visually - d'ehs emoc ni htiw a ganb! (She'd come in with a bang.)

3. Raven Roth

Raven is one of the most incredible female comic book characters, with one of the biggest fanbases. Commonly grouped in with the Teen Titans, I don't think anyone would be opposed to her making a solo debut first or one with the entire group. Her powers would also look amazing on screen, and they could save any character development with Trigon for a collaborative season finale the likes of which we have not seen.

2. Batwoman (Kate Kane)

Batwoman is here to take names and kick ass. Honestly, not much else needs to be said - but I will say, who doesn't love a gorgeous redhead, red and black outfits, and representation for lesbians and the entire LGBTQ community? Batwoman and Renee Montoya for CW's new hottest couple, anyone? ....Anyone?

1. Starfire

Admittedly, the number one spot goes to Starfire because of a personal bias. There is just something so endearing about the fish-out-of-water archetype, especially when said fish is a kind, caring alien looking at the world we Earthlings (and Earth-2lings) consider mundane, with fresh eyes. Who also happens to be able bench press a semi. True facts.

What do you think of the top 5 list? Any characters I left out? Who would you put in the DC Cine-verse if you could?
