The release of [Captain America: Civil War](tag:994409) is now just about three months away. The marketing campaign for the movie has just only revealed the players, their sides, and the reason for their conflict, but unlike The Avengers: Age of Ultron, we have not been given much information regarding the underlying plot. So let's take a quick look at my top five unknowns going into the movie with some possible spoilers/speculations.
We know that young actor Tom Holland will play the role of Spider-Man, but there has been no sign of him in any of the trailers or during the current marketing campaign. What role will he play in the movie? Any information on the web is still just speculation, with many people thinking that he will be limited to just a cameo during the post-credits scene. The bigger question is, if his role in the movie is bigger than many fans believe, then whose side will he be on?
2. Baron Zemo
Since the announcement that Daniel Brühl was cast as Baron Zemo, many people saw him as the main antagonist of the movie. Marvel took a different approach than DC did with it's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer revealing Doomsday as the main villain of the movie. Which in turn removed most of the hype surrounding the battle between Batman and Superman. There hasn't been much information, if any at all, that Marvel Studios has officially released what would indicate the role he plays in the plot. Many do believe that he is behind the attacks that Bucky is being framed for.
3. Winter Soldier vs. Tony Stark
It has been long speculated that the Winter Soldier was behind the accident that killed Tony Stark's parents. It's possible that this revelation during the events in Captain America: Civil War could be the breaking point between Tony Stark and Captain America, after he sees Captain America choose to defend his childhood friend Bucky Barnes over taking sides with him.
We have also seen in the Big Game TV spot, that the Winter Soldier does not hesitate to shoot at Tony Stark during their confrontation.
4. Black Widow
During the trailers that have been released, we've heard Black Widow warn Captain America to stay out of it, and we've seen her look at Iron Man almost as if she isn't sure why or how things got to where they did.
We know that she does take up arms alongside Iron Man during the airport fighting sequence, as footage of her and Hawkeye going toe-to-toe once again has been featured in some of the trailers. She is also seen in the trailer looking at the battle that is currently unfolding before her with a worried and fearful look.
Whose side is she really on, if any?
5. Someone Must Die
Unfortunately, one of our beloved heroes must die during the events of Civil War. In the comic books, the major casualty was Captain America. In the movie version of this arc, we will find ourselves in a position where a supporting member of one or both teams must meet their demise in order to move forward in Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
In my opinion, the member of Captain America's team that might die would be The Winter Soldier/Bucky Barnes. He's done too many evil deeds, just to have them put it all behind and chalk it up to mind control, but just because they were able to do it for Hawkeye and then give Scarlett Witch a chance after her actions, doesn't necessarily mean they will do it for Bucky.
Team Iron Man is also in the position to lose a member; that member could be War Machine/James Rhodes. Seeing that Black Panther, Vision, Black Widow and Iron Man are all basically set to make appearances in future Marvel movies. He seems like the only logical choice in Team Iron Man.
If things do go down the way I've just listed. You will see Captain America and Iron Man, two friends on different sides of this conflict, watching each other lose their closest friends and then reuniting them to fight for the greater good.
