Joining Jonathan Scarfe, Christopher Heyerdahl, Paul Johansson, David Cubitt and Tim Guinee in the cast of Van Helsing is newest addition Kelly Overton, who will star in the title role of the 13-episode vampire drama series, produced by Nomadic Pictures.
Overton will play Vanessa Helsing, descendent of the Van Helsing line of warriors, who must help mankind fight a world now dominated by vampires.
Scarfe will play Axel, a devoted Marine who has experienced countless vampire attacks.
Heyerdahl is Sam, who survived the vampire Rising, and counts on his strength and observational skills to stay alive.
Cubitt will portrays the character John, another survivor of the vampire Rising. He operates on fear, hatred, anger and is a complete skeptic.
Johansson is Dimitri, a man who became a vampire before the Rising. He is the devious leader of the vampires.
Guinee is Ted, a vampire foot soldier who battles Vanessa and conceals a tragic secret.
Showrunner/writer Neil LaBute says:
“We’ve been extremely blessed to get such a wonderfully talented and diverse cast for Van Helsing."
Chad Oakes, co-chairman of Nomadic Pictures, had this to add:
“Kelly will be an amazing Vanessa and our lead cast is nothing short of outstanding.”
While no information has been revealed regarding a release date, we can already tell that this is a TV show to really sink our teeth into.
