Today, i finally got around to watching Deadpool in cinemas, and with my first watch, it was clear that the film had several Easter eggs and references to other superhero films and other films outside of that genre. Ryan Reynolds has also said that there is over 100 Easters Eggs and references in total but I don't have that much time to talk about them all so i'm counting down the top 5.

WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD.

1. Remembering Reynolds previous works

Even from the first trailer that was released for this film, we saw Wade Wilson played by Ryan Reynolds making fun of the Green Lantern film in 2011 that he starred in and ultimately underwhelmed everyone. In this when he is on the stretcher and talking to the Ajax (Francis), he shouts "Dont make my super suit green... OR ANIMATED!"

Not only did he make fun of the Green Lantern but also the previous attempt at Deadpool in X-men Origins: Wolverine as in his apartment you see a small action figure of the character.

2. There is a glitch in the Matrix

Possibly one of the most obvious but still great references in the film comes when the recruiter meets Wade Wilson in the bar for the first time and Wade starts calling by Mr Smith, due to him wearing a black suit that made him look like the Mr Smith, the Agent from the 1999 film, The Matrix.

3. Several nods to the X-Men films

Due to Deadpool and the X-men being in the same universe as both of the rights are owned by the same company, that being FOX, there was several references to the X Men including Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead teaming up with Deadpool.

One of these nods comes when Colossus cuffs Deadpool to take him the professor and Deadpool just asks "Steward or McAvoy", that being a nod to the Xmen franchise rebooting it self and changing cast for the character Professor Xavier.

Even in the first scene of this film there is an instant reference to Wolverine as Deadpool breaks the 4th wall and asks "So your probably wondering who balls I fondle to get my own film" as he then says "It rhymes with Polverine".

4. "Spoiler Alert!"

Yet another reference to another film that really has nothing to do with Deadpool happens when Colossus is dragging Deadpool and the floor to take him to the professor, he then cuts off his own hand after saying:

"Ever see 127 hours? Spoiler Alert!"

Clearing referencing the Danny Boyle film 127 Hours with James Franco.

5. Yet Another Cameo

If you've seen any Marvel film ever, you probably know that comic creator great, Stan Lee makes a cameo in almost all of them, and Deadpool is no exception!

In this film he appears in the scene where Wade travels to the strip club that his girlfriend works at to warn her about Ajax (Francis) who is coming to kidnap her. Lee quickly appears as an announcer in the club, introducing a stripper that's about to come on stage, probably Lee's funniest role so far.

I know i have missed so many references and Easter Eggs but as Reynolds said, there is over 100. What were some of you favorite references in the film and what did you actually think the movie? Personally i loved it.
