20th Century Fox seems to be on a role with their films recently. Deadpool has broken the record for being the most successful R rated movie in history, while Eddie the Eagle is simultaneously becoming an inspirational classic.
Think I might be giving this new movie a little too much credit? Well read below as I give you five reasons to go see it and find out why I know you're gonna love Eddie The Eagle.
5. It's actually very funny!
This movie isn't just gonna warm your heart, you'll find yourself laughing more than you probably expect to. From the start of the movie to the end, it never let's up on its comedic relief, and that's a good thing!
4. Hugh Jackman is as still awesome as ever!
I've never been let down by Hugh Jackman, and never actually expect to be. So I was glad to see this movie was no exception to that notion. It's nice to see him put down the claws and be a supporting character this time around!
3. The real story is just as incredible as the movie
The real Eddie 'The Eagle' Edwards was just as fascinating as the movie portrays him to be. He was actually the first competitor to represent Great Britain in Olympic Ski Jumping, and held various records over the years. The more you actually do your research on this man, the more you'll understand why they decided to make a biopic of him. He became the prime example of an underdog way back in 1988.
2. Taron Ergerton plays the leading role perfectly
Hugh Jackman isn't the only star actor in this movie, Taron Ergerton plays the leading role to perfection. I honestly don't think they could have chosen a better actor to play Eddie. Not only is the resemblance there, but Ergerton makes you believe he's the real deal!
1. It's a brand new, heartwarming classic
That's right, I think Eddie the Eagle is here to stay. A movie we'll all be able to enjoy years from now. All the puzzle pieces came together perfectly for this film, and what resulted was a movie that will inspire even the most hopeless of people!
Don't wanna take my word for it? Go and check out Eddie The Eagle this Thursday at your local theater. You won't regret it...
