Just when you thought it was safe to stick your head into the market of international box office figures, safe in the knowledge that Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens had blown pretty much every record (bar the big, global-total-shaped one) clean away, a smart-mouthed mercenary in a tight-fitting red suit comes along, and shakes things up for the second time in a year.

Yup, that's right: Fox and Marvel's Deadpool is breaking box office records left, right, and center, and not taking a whole lot of time to do it. The latest record to fall?

'Deadpool' Just Smashed 'Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens' Record Opening Weekend In Russia

Yup, that's right. THAT Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens. The one that has only made $2 billion dollars worldwide. Just lost its Russian box office record to Deadpool.

Specifically, Episode VII's $12.3 million opening weekend haul was just gently eclipsed by Deadpool's $13.1 million — which, being worth around 950 million rubles, means the Russian box office is now just waiting for that big 'billion dollar' opening we've all (all?) been waiting for.

Deadpool 2, anyone?

What do you think?

Just how much money do you think 'Deadpool' will eventually make worldwide?
