It's been almost a year since Josh Bowman was last on our screens as fan favorite Daniel Grayson in ABC's retribution drama Revenge, and oh, how we've missed him. Luckily for us, it looks like he'll be making a return to prime time in new series Time After Time, produced by Kevin Williamson. The role will see Josh take a wicked turn as none other than Jack The Ripper. From lady-killer to, well, lady-killer.

Based on the 1979 novel and movie, Time After Time will recount the epic adventures of H.G. Wells as he travels through time, chasing elusive serial killer Jack The Ripper. Staying true to the book, Jack is living a double life, existing as a brilliant and charismatic surgeon by day while prowling the streets of London for victims at night. You can travel back in time yourself by watching the trailer for the original movie from 1979:

And Josh isn't the only familiar face that will be starring in the new show. He'll be appearing opposite Freddie Stroma, who some might recognize as Hermione's love interest (and Ron's nemesis) Cormac McLaggen from the Harry Potter movies. You can see Freddie in action in this classic clip from Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince:

Freddie will also be making an appearance in Season 6 of Game Of Thrones.

It's not yet clear how much inspiration Time After Time will take from the original film, in which Jack and Wells were played by David Warner and Malcolm McDowell, respectively. This series is in good company, battling it out with new NBC drama Time, Comedy Central's Time Traveling Bong and The CW's Legends Of Tomorrow for the title of 2016's best time-bending series.

ABC is yet to announce when the show will premiere, but in the mean time, here's a little sumthin' sumthin' to tide you over...

You're welcome.

Which time travel series are you most excited about?
