We're a matter of days away from the 20th anniversary of the phenomenon that is Pokémon, and amidst the excitement of the impending rerelease of the GameBoy's classic Red, Blue & Yellow iterations of the franchise comes this epic, nostalgia fueled trailer that fired shivers up and down my spine at least.
Check it out:
Can you believe Red & Blue first released in 1996? I still remember the first time I caught a Gyarados. Damn I love those things. Anyway, I digress! As you can see from the trailer, the eShop rereleases have been ported as close to the originals as possible, barring one timely and badass amendment.
Trainers can now trade Pokémon wirelessly by connecting their 2/3DS to the WiFI instead of that damn Link Cable, which is awesome. Can't tell you the amount of times I lost or forgot those damn things on trips.
Also there hasn't been word on whether the originals' glitches and crazy moments have been removed from the game too. Here's hoping not, because the glitches were a huge part of the games' DNA.
The classic Pokémons will hit Nintendo's eShop on February 27.
