The current rumor is that the 7th Assassin's Creed game, code-named Empire, is going to be set in Ancient Egypt, finally visiting one of the most popularly demanded locations. Yet, there are so many other locales we fans want to see in the Assassin's Creed franchise. So in no particular order, here are my top choices.
1. American Civil War
I have always been intrigued with the Civil War and an Assassin's Creed game set before, during, and after this time of unrest in America would be awesome. Although there wouldn't be too much in the area for climbing, there would be a plethora of battles to take part in and so many people to meet, such as Abraham Lincoln, Harriet Tubman, Robert E. Lee, Ulysess S. Grant, and Jessie James. I want to help slaves escape via the Underground Railroad and later track down John Wilkes Booth across Maryland and Virginia. And maybe have a few duels.
2. Feudal Japan
This choice is obvious. Who wouldn't want to be a samurai assassin? The architecture would be a blast to climb and explore and there would be a lot of weapons and fight moves to master.
3. Cold War Russia
I saw this mentioned a while back as an option and it stuck with me. The idea of playing as a assassin spy in Cold War Russia sounds pretty cool. Plus, I'd love to go exploring the Saint Basil's Cathedral and the Winter Palace in St. Petersburg!
4. Roman Empire
With Ezio we got to see what was left of the Roman Empire's landmarks, such as the Colosseum and the Castel Sant'Angelo. Wouldn't it be great to see them in their heyday? We could play as a Roman Soldier who turns into an assassin as he helps conquer the rest of Europe.
5. World War I
I know Ubisoft does not want to make a game at a time in which automobiles exist, but I just can't stop imagining an Assassins's Creed game in which I get to crawl around in trenches and drive submarines. Ubisoft keeps giving us glimpses of what this type of era would look like from an assassin's view, first with Unity in occupied France during WWII and then Syndicate with Britain in WWI. The teases only make me want it more and they prove there can at least be a side game with WWI (like a Rogue-type game) in which the invention and use of machine guns and cars do not hinder the gameplay.
