As we all know, Daredevil Season 2 with Frank Castle, AKA The Punisher is coming to Netflix next month. The Punisher, in both the MCU and the comic book universe is a vigilante who actually kills bad guys. I remember his original ad catch-phrase when Frank was (no pun intended) blowing up back in the '80's: "If you're guilty, you're dead."
What I'm thinking is a case of art imitating life imitating art again. Get all that?
This is Jon Bernthal as the Punisher in the Daredevil Season 2 promo pics that were recently released:
You can see the start of a skull logo on his shirt beneath his leather jacket....
The Punisher has to get his trademark Skull logo somehow. In the modern military, many units, including Special Forces, use the Punisher skull as their unit logo. The Punisher's ethic inspired these soldiers. In the MCU, Frank Castle is a former army guy now on a rampage in NYC. What if the MCU Punisher is inspired by these soldiers with a kick-ass skull logo?
In other words, real-life soldiers use the Punisher logo from a comic book for inspiration. In the MCU, The Punisher uses their skull logo for his inspiration.
