With the exploding popularity of Deadpool, cashing in over $150 million dollars on opening weekend, interest in the merc-with-a-mouth has been at its all-time high! And with this renewed interest, many popular gifs of Deadpool cosplayers have resurfaced as of late, like Deadpool delivering his baby...
or high-fiving the Joker...
or even dance battling Hip-Hop Trooper!
Now these have been floating around the internet for a long time, and most of them are actually the work of D-Piddy, a YouTuber who has been cosplaying as our beloved Deadpool for a long time - three years and up!
D-Piddy is a mastermind of comedy, often employing other cosplayers into his shenanigans to truly capture the chaotic nature of Deadpool. This is most evident in his "Deadpool vs __________-con" videos, where he attends a convention and wrecks havoc amongst his fellow cosplayers (with their consent, of course).
Here's a taste of one of his most viewed invasion videos:
D-Piddy has also expanded his repertoire of video over the years, cosplaying as other characters, guest starring in other cosplayers' videos, and even creating song parodies.
By far the most successful of these ventures, however, are his parodies of Korean Pop-Star singer Psy's songs: Gentleman, Gangnam Style, and Daddy. You can check these hilarious parodies out here:
But truly the heart of D-Piddy's videos still lie with his Deadpool cosplay invasions. And why is that?
His videos are extremely feel good, and they invoke a sense of inclusiveness. He often invites other cosplayers to dance with him, and partake in his antics.
And as the audience, we feel good seeing this, and we want to be a part of this as well. For this reason, D-Piddy has exploded into popularity over the past few years, and it doesn't look like he'll be stopping anytime soon, since the new Deadpool movie has been doing so well in the box office.
