Over in London, Benedict Cumberbatch has been quietly filming one of the most anticipated comic book movies of the year. It's been a while since any news has come from the Doctor Strange camp, with Marvel's marketing side largely focusing on the impending [Captain America: Civil War](tag:994409) film.
It appears that the Sorcerer Supreme has been through a rough patch, as the close up features a bloodied Benedict Cumberbatch staring ominously into the distance.
Along with the images, Periscope user Sanford Dickert managed to capture some on-set footage. The footage seems to give us some idea of how Doctor Strange became bloody and bruised. Spotted alongside Chiwetel Ejiofor's Baron Mordo, Cumberbatch's Stephen Strange comes to the assistance of his sidekick, Wong, played by Benedict Wong.
The video clocks in at just under 20 minutes and features commentary from Dickert himself. Alluding to the yellow cabs, Dickert insinuates that London could just be a stand-in for New York City. This seems to be the case, as it was also backed up by Darren Ross on Twitter, who spotted a host of New York City taxis heading towards the shoot.
The film is set to open up a side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that we are yet to see. Described as a supernatural, almost horror-like in its tone, many fans are eagerly awaiting the on screen debut of Stephen Strange.
With Captain America: Civil War nearly upon us, we can expect the marketing chiefs at Marvel to start dropping new Doctor Strange material and teasers soon...
