I love Captain America, Thor and pretty much everything MARVEL related

Hello everyone. My life hasn't been involved with Moviepilot as much as I would have liked in the past months, but I am back.

I am awaiting the arrival of all the Superhero films coming out this year with great patience and stress. Batman V Superman, Suicide Squad, Captain America: Civil War, Doctor Strange and X-Men Apocalypse will hopefully all do well critically and financially.

I am writing this because of what everyone already knows as the "Marvel Vs DC War". Fans of both sides have been going at it for many years, but with the all of the movies and characters on both sides, fans like to make fun or compare the two entities.

I am writing my OPINION on why Marvel fans like tearing down DC films and characters.

1. DC has the more iconic characters

I am a Marvel fan over fan over DC. That is no secret. I cannot defend the argument that these two bad boys are the most iconic superheroes. I think we as Marvel fans like to see that Superman hasn't been done right lately. We got Tony Stark right and Captain America right. We make fun of the fact that Superman didn't save anyone in the Man of Steel, but the Avengers let people die. We know as Marvel fans that Superman has to be done in a certain way. We love tormenting people by saying "He is so lazy and boring in that movie" or "It is so joyless in all of these films!"

I would argue that we make a big deal about the darkness of these films because we want to see these characters done wrong. DC is not a a dark universe in the comics, not at all. DC is known for keeping their films grounded in reality, but they can't just walk out there and say, "Man of Steel 2 is going to be Superman fighting Lex Luthor in a robot suit with robots and space adventures!" Then everyone will say, that is too cheesy. Well you can't have it both ways. These characters are known for their individual traits and Marvel fans will jump on the minor details. They messed up Superman, Batman vs Superman looks joyless and like the apocalypse!". Just wait Marvel fans, wait till Thanos kills everyone and the whole universe is dying with fire and blood everywhere. Batman and Superman were certainly not created to say to each other "Do you bleed?", but we cannot just criticize them for changing these heroes to fit in what their universe is headed towards.

2. Marvel started their cinematic universe first

Marvel started this wonderful MCU in 2008 with Iron Man and it never stopped. DC started it's turn DCEU in 2013 with Man of Steel. This is the topic that everyone uses. You cannot keep saying "DC is trying to catch up to Marvel".

That is such an invalid argument. It would be the exact argument for Marvel if they didn't create Marvel Studios. DC is not copying their formula. Yes, the Justice League seems really rushed, but they can't really catch up. Sorry to say, but so far they have an origin story for Superman. They started at an odd time but we as fans cannot keep saying that they want to beat Marvel with the Justice League quicker. Why do we think that because someone goes later, the second person won't come up with an original universe layout.

Justice League Part 1 comes out in 2017. By then, Batman V Superman, Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman will all be out. Marvel already has them beat by content and stories. I want to know what DC thinks or wants to catch up to! why do people keep saying this? DC will be so far behind that we fans of Marvel will see them in the rear-view mirror. One could say that DC wanted to be the first to have a female superhero as the lead in a movie. In that case, Marvel has been defeated.

So, that is why I think Marvel fans love to hate on DC's movies. I do hope you weren't offended by any of my views, but if you have something to say, please comment below. Remember, Long Live Marvel!
